Wow. Last weeks sprinting made me remember I am not in college anymore. FAR from it.

Jumping over a hurdle or two at my athletes track practice had me desperately looking for some help by wednesday.

My first goal this season, which is my first season running sprints in 15 years, is to stay healthy. With that being said:

Amina,
I should have been watching you better.  It is a lesson for me:  No matter the fitness level of the athlete, I have to work any athlete up to sprints.  I just can't let them go at it.  It is better to under-train a bit then to over-train at all. Next time you are out, we will focus on drills more and any sprints will be notched back to 60% of effort and more reps at this slower pace.

We do the leg swings that Shexenayder describes.   Aaron, Dave and Andrew do those hurdle mobility drills he recommends also.   It is not every week but they did it this week and I will be sure to incorporate it when you come out.  I have added a variation to the low walking.  It is low lunge walking.  I will practice the version you recommend and will possibly add it.

Thanks
