Slow Food Spokane River Eat-In starts the fun on Labor Day, 9/7 at Comstock Park. 

If you've never seen a Food 'Petting Zoo,' this is your chance!  4-6pm potluck fun in the NW corner of the park, just before the Spokane Symphony free concert.  

The event is one of a nationwide collection of hundreds of Slow Food potlucks, all on Labor Day, to get support for increasing funds for the Childhood Nutrition Act this Fall.  The legislation is only reviewed every 4-5yrs and helps support millions of this country's children.  For many, it's their only meal of the day - let's make sure it's REAL FOOD that is good for them!  Sign the petition here , learn more here , and join us with a delicious local potluck dish on Labor Day!

Feast with Friends at the Sapphire Room, Wednesday, Sept. 9th.  Annual Futurewise event spotlighting their work to preserve our region's farmland!  More info & tickets! 

One World Spokane will have their first Life Skills workshop “From Garbage to Garden” for those interested in home composting. This will take place on Thursday September 10^th from 5 to 7 in the garden on Pittsburg and 1^st Ave. Space is limited. Suggested donation is $5.

A National Day of Action on Friday, September 11th. 

We call upon all youth to stand up for their hood and to improve the quality of its environment. Together we 

will clean up trash; we will mow unkempt lawns; we will garden urban farms; we will turn waste into 

compost; we will create beautiful graffiti murals; we will do something great;  

East End Neighborhood is putting on their annual block party Saturday, September 12th, 3-8pm!
