Excellent!
I think the best way to handle these small expenses is to pay with
cash from door proceeds. Asking for an invoice for $50 is a bit much,
IMO. Also, it's customary to give DJs a few drink tickets each and a
couple of guest passes (they often like to bring their significant
others or a friend or two, ya know). If you've got a budget
spreadsheet going, you might add a line item for that.
On the promotion front, I plan to hit up a few of my party promoter
friends to spread the word. One that I mentioned is DJ seven who has a
really big email list. There are a couple others too. However, I've
been holding off because I'll only get one shot with them. I want to
fully nail down the DJs before making the request. Hope to have the
final DJ squared away today or tomorrow. Also, plan to ask all the DJs
to let their fans know a bit closer to the event...
I also suggest that we make a facebook event page so we can all invite
our friends to the event.
