99Rise is hosting our first northern California Strategic Nonviolent Movement Training on June 29th in San Francisco ... and you’re invited!

It’s awesome, empowering, and free (seriously, what more could you want?). Here are all the basics:

These trainings empower new 99Rise members with the tools to take independent, creative nonviolent action within a shared grand strategy for reclaiming our democracy from big money. We’ll cover how to use your own story to mobilize supporters, the basic dynamics of nonviolent conflict, the strategy and principles of 99Rise, organizing 101, effective action planning, and more.

If you've been looking to get more involved in what we do (or are even just a little curious!), this training a great place to start! As Alison Hartson, a young high school teacher from Orange County, told me after a training this past spring:

If we really are determined to end corporate rule and the corrupting influence of money-in-politics, we’re going to need more than petitions, videos, and phone calls - we need the power of a mass nonviolent movement for democracy. Let's build that movement together.
