Hack for Democracy event

Hello SF Rootstrikers,

I have working as part of a new organization called Team Democracy.

On the weekend of March 29th and 30th, we are sponsoring an event at the Thoughtworks offices in San Francisco to help get money out of politics and create a functioning democracy in America.

Americans have lost faith in our system of governance. 96% of voters agree that money in politics is a problem, but 91% don’t think it can be fixed.

But we know we can fix it. That’s why we need your support for the movement to restore a government of, by, and for the people — using design, technology, and media.

On March 29th and 30th, Team Democracy, in collaboration with Rootstrikers and the California Clean Money Campaign, are holding a hackthon: Hack for Democracy.  Design, Technology, and Marketing Hackers will brainstorm and build software projects to develop public awareness of the issue of corruption, propose creative solutions and help organize activists.
