 Rootstrikers' General Meeting Minutes

Attendees:  David Schmidt, Johanna, Carrie, Ben, Gabe, Luke, Deb

I) Netroots Nation 3-day conference June 20-23 in San Jose.  

Discounted admission for Rootstrikers.  

II) Best practices for maintaining volunteers

• Consistency: same spot for meetings, same time, same place

• Meetings near public transit

• Thoroughly describe meeting place so that new-timers would be able to navigate there

• Follow-up / intro email with links to FB / Google Group / Rootstrikers.org spaces / phone #s other resources

• Include new member by giving him/ her task at his/her second meeting.  

III) Next Action

• The group discussed submitting a “re-mix” of corruption is my issue.  Investigation warranted.  

• Gabe suggested a “hack-a-thon” format for a future action

• David Schmidt proposed joining the CA Clean Money Campaign contingency @ SF Pride on June 30.  Lots of support for that.  Deb to ask Szelena and follow up with Joni @ CCMC

IV) Next Meeting = June 18

• Agenda will include planning SF Pride event

• “Hack-a-thon” to work on SF Pride costumes / ideas Saturday, June 22

V) Other Upcoming Events

• CA Clean Money Campaign will be making another trip to Sacramento to lobby for the Disclose Act on June 25 (Assembly elections committee).
