Hey Rootstriker friends,

I'm writing to let you know about an opportunity to do some money-in-politics organizing that I think may be of interest to you. Daniel Newman, the president of MapLight (where I work), is considering making a push for a ballot measure that would institute public funding of elections in the city of Berkeley.

Even if you don't live in Berkeley, I think this is an excellent (and achievable!) goal that would be a great win for our cause in the Bay Area and would allow us to start building momentum on the path to larger scale reform in California and the country at large. The campaign could serve as a model for other cities to take similar measures.

If you're interested, there will be a introductory call on Thursday at 1pm. Let me know if you'd be interested in joining!

Hi all,

I'm sure by this point you've all heard about the Supreme Court's decision today. If you're as mad as I am, and looking for a way to fight back, a reminder that we're having a call to discuss a campaign for public funding of elections in the city of Berkeley tomorrow (Thursday 4/3) at 1pm.

If you're interested in joining, let me know.

Hi Jay,
I'm interested but I work during the day. Is there a way I can get in touch and see what was discussed later?
