I saw an incredible amount of talent, knowledge and energy in the room.

I am looking forward to all, together, growing and strengthening this group to accomplish ever greater successes!

Fixing the US government is nothing less than an issue of global survival, and we have come together to work for it.

And now, without further ado, the meeting minutes:

CA Disclose Act

 - Senate Committee hearing is on April 30th

 - Aaron, Geoffrey, possibly others to go to Sacramento and show support

 - Aaron is driving, early start to be there for 9:30 

On the Record

 - This is an action to get our national representatives to take a position on corruption.  Conducted by Rootstrikers in collaboration with the Huffington Post

 - Due to conference, only Kai sent letters so far

 - More people need to be send letters.  We need to get politicians to talk about this issue and take a stand!

 - Please contact me if you need assistance with this.

  - May 19th is the next day of action

  - We will be doing an action in stores, showing the impact different brands have on our government

Comments, ideas and questions from attendees

  - Positive feedback on the conference

  - When is the next conference?  There is talk about making this an annual event

  - How can we get the different organizations work together more closely?

  - New York Public Financing Initiative.  How can we help?

      - Let's have a campaign to tell everyone we know in New York about it

      - Kai volunteered to research and find out

  - Rootstrikers SF is difficult to find online. @SFRootstrikers twitter is not updated

       - Aaron to get access to @SFRootstrikers account

       - Gabriel to keep account active

  - A March against Monsanto is coming up.  This could be a recruitment opportunity for Rootstrikers

  - We need more right wing voices

       - Luke to research some events where we could recruit more conservatives

  - Book recommendation "It's even worse than it looks" is co-authored in collaboration between right and left-wing think tanks

  - Idea to come up with viral videos and spread them with celebrity support

  - Questions raised to Rootstrikers national leadership:

       1. What is Rootstrikers long term strategy for engaging people and keeping their attention over time?

       2. What tracking, analysis and testing of campaigns is being done? How much money would Rootstrikers need to be able to track and test campaigns?

       3. Is there an active advisory board for Rootstrikers?  Who is on it?

  - How do we engage small businesses in the movement?  Business for Democracy is an organization we could work with here

  - Agreed to hold a breakout group to come up with PR ideas.  6:30PM May 1st at Sandbox Suites

      Sarah, Kai, Aaron, Andrew to attend

  - Suggested a web and technology advisory group be created

      Gabriel, Aaron, Andrew agreed to participate
