Dear Friends,
On Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, the U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule on another campaign finance case called McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission, which could extend the argument that money is speech to wealthy individuals, allowing them to donate millions of dollars to candidates and political parties, rather than the hundreds of thousand allowable now.
The national groups that are working to restore fairness to elections and overturn the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling are calling for nationwide protests when the McCutcheon ruling is issued.
I plan to attend a protest/rally on the steps of San Francisco's City Hall at 5:00 pm on that day, and I hope you can be there too.
This is a perfect venue for recruiting new DISCLOSE volunteers, so please bring a clipboard with DISCLOSE Act petitions (you can download them at www.cadisclose.org , under "actions," click on "download materials).
Please sign up to attend an event.
Also, forward this email to your friends and family!
Together, we will fight for our democracy. See you at City Hall
