First off, I want to extend an ENORMOUS thank you to Rebcca Prozan and DA Gascon for hosting another fabulous mentor recruitment and appreciation event.  And BIG props to Annie Schuler who volunteered as the photographer for the evening.  Rebecca and DA Gascon are looking forward to a bigger, better event next year!  Here's the link to the pictures- https://app.box.com/s/r65herap5knt2vbufuhe Please do not use any youth photos for publications unless they are in your program- blur them out if they are in the background of any picture! If you use any of the photos, please give photo credit to "Annie Schuler".

Just a quick reminder about Thursday's Trauma Training. It's not too late to RSVP!

Ever wonder why it's so hard for you to form a relationship with your mentee? Or how they don't seem to believe what you are saying? Ever wonder what to do or say when you hear your mentee has experienced a trauma, or several traumas?

This training will provide you some ways to think about your mentee and your relationship, how trauma can affect a young person's way of living in the world and how to support them as a caring adult in their life.

RSVP at http://mfstrauma.eventbrite.com

Lastly... let's not stop with the great networking we were able to do at Thursday's event.  If your agency has not filled out the JotForm (from last Spring!), please take 5 minutes to do so.  This will help us better understand how each program meets the minimum standards recommended by MENTOR.  Only one person per agency needs to complete the form.  You may access the form here: http://www.jotform.us/vargasl2/SFMentorCoalition

Please tentatively set aside Thursday, 2/13 for our Coalition meeting- would 8:30am or 9am work for most people?  In the past we have met later in the day and that excluded folks who have youth in their afternoon programs.  Please let me know.

Thanks!
Laurie
