Agency Questionnaire

Hi All,

 

First off, I want to say thank you to those that have informed me they are interested in remaining an active participant in the Coalition eventhough they are unable to attend all of the meetings.  I also want to officially say "WELCOME!" to Mo'Magic and Mixed Roots Foundation as our two newest members!

 

As many of you know, the coalition meetings have focused on reviewing the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring (from MENTOR).

Please take a few minutes to fill out a form that will help us better understand how each program meets the minimum standards recommended by MENTOR.  Only one person per agency needs to complete the form.  You may access the form here: http://www.jotform.us/vargasl2/SFMentorCoalition

 

We are currently working on developing a logo contest.  Mentors and mentees are encouraged to work together to develop a logo that the SF Mentor Coation will use in future emails and events!  Once the rules and submission guidelines have been developed, an official announcement will be put out and folks will upload their JPEG to the SF Mentor Coalition facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/pages/SF-Mentor-Coalition/180141652126852 Stay tuned!

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for the late notice but I need to re-schedule our meeting this afternoon.  I have been asked to be in a different meeting today.  

Would folks be interested in meeting at the end of the moth?  How many of you are going to the Friends For Youth conference?  Maybe we can try to sit together on Friday so we can do some general meet-and-greet?  If folks are interested I can try to get there early and save a table!

 

If you haven't filled out the JotForm about your agency- please do so soon.  I'm trying to compile it all into one document.

Hi Everyone,

HAPPY SUMMER (eventhough the fog is telling those of s in the Sunset otherwise!).  Now that school is out it's time to start planning for the coming year!

 

Thank you to the agencies that have completed the JotForm.  If you haven't already completed one for your agency please do so... the Coalition has been working hard to identify the agencies that are utilizing the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring.  Don't worry if your agency doesn't do all of the suggested activities.  We have folks who are willing to help you!

 

Also- I will be scheduling a Summer Coalition meeting- I'm hoping for the 3rd week of June.  Is there an agency that would like to host?  We've had a request for a morning time slot- around 9am.

The SF Mentor Coalition will meet on Wednesday, June 19th at 9am at SF Ed Fund.

Our agenda will include

• JotForm submissions- I will print out those received and as a group we can determine next steps for agencies who have not completed the form and/or those who are looking for mentoring from other agencies!  
• Joint trainings for the coming year- are there specific topics folks would like?
• Holly from Mixed Roots Foundation mentioned a possible joint recruitment activity- we should discuss the potential of this

Unfortunately starting next Monday (6/17) I will begin teaching full-time for SMART's Academic Summer Enrichment Program.  With this my schedule reflects more of an average school day as opposed to the after-school program type hours I usually work and will be unable to come to the Mentor Coalition Meeting next Wednesday.

However I hope to make it to the next one and am looking forward to seeing some of the notes online.  Thanks again for keeping me in the loop and I hope you are having an enjoyable summer.
