Hi,

This may be duplicating previous efforts, but here goes. Just for fun,
I’ve been looking on Google Earth for big plots of land near BART
stations. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to capture a Google Earth
view as a file.

Anyway, this is what I’ve found so far, for what it’s worth. They are
all close to BART and not uncomfortably close to a freeway.

A big, triangular piece of land with nothing on it right next to the
parking lot of the San Leandro BART station;

Vacant land that may be beyond the city limits, to the east of, and
relatively close to, the South Hayward BART station;

Several big plots of open land nearly surrounding and nearby the Union
City BART station;

Vacant land to the south and east of the North Concord/Martinez BART
station, which again may be outside city limits, though at least two
housing developments seem to have been carved out of it;

A strip of land that doesn’t look like a park south of the parking lot
for the Concord BART station.

Wow, Charlie-

Good work and above the call of duty for a young man like yourself up to his ears in work and adaptational joy in Mexico!

I very much like San Leandro of all the choices ever heard of, since its climate is milder (not so hot) and the BART access is capital to me.  Gary (my former roomie of 23 years in SF) & I almost moved to a modest but well-positioned condo bldg. right near the S.L. BART station eons ago, in the late 80s, before you were even born.

Hope Alan, Phil, and the various other brainy potentates in the Bay Area able to research this a micro-bit to see if feasible will lavish especial attention on the San Leandro parcel, since that area is my idea of good news environmentally and the bay's shoreline park just to the west of that zone offers great walks, sunsets, and cool, clean airflow most of the year....

Take care in Mexico.
