In view of Newton's endorsement of the San Leandro location, does
anyone know of an easy way to find out who owns it?

I still think that the information one of the Pleasant Hill cohousing
founders gave me recently is worthwhile in terms of steps to take to
get this thing off the ground even in this horrible economic climate.
Maybe the developer she mentioned is hungry for a project, maybe San
Leandro is looking to fulfill its ABAG housing requirements with a
centrally located transit-oriented project, and certainly the
availability of this kind of housing to a maturing Bay Area LGBT
community is an excellent investment (in my opinion), regardless of
what any midwestern cohousing guru may think.

Saw you email.

I am a broker here in Sacramento and a member of the group.  If you can provide me with the parcel number, and physical address I can locate the information (owner, how to reach them etc.)  I would be happy to help provide this information to you.

Hi Mark,

The land is bounded by W. Estudillo Ave. on the north, Thornton St. on
the south, Alvarado St. and a SP track on the west, and Martinez St.
on the east.

It appears to be owned by the city, but I'm not certain. Nor am I
certain of the parcel number. The best map I could find on the Alameda
Co. Assessor's Office website is difficult (for me) to interpret it.

I'm going to try to add the map to the files section of the SF LGBT
Cohousing Google Group site. If you send me your email address, I can
send it directly to you.
