SF Footy Round 1: Come on out and play!

Greetings, everyone!

We did some informal surveys on Sunday and it looks like the general consensus is to do an SF Footy season! We are booking the fields and preparing the t-shirts, so everyone get ready to come out!

Details:

The SF Footy season will run from 3/6 through the end of the month, with the SF Footy grand final taking place on the first weekend of the GGAFL Mens and Womens competition. That gives us 6 weeks of footy, including the SF Footy open day.

We will keep everyone on the same red and yellow teams that we had last week, so if you were on that team last week, you will be on that team again for the rest of the season. You will be getting t-shirts to keep with your league dues and we will have an end-of-season party / beer session. Awesome Awards will also be provided after every round, highlighting the stand out performances for the men and women.

We are trying to have it at West Sunset Playground every round, but stay tuned to make sure the field is the same as last week.

Cost:

The field rental, supplies and t-shirts are not free, so we need to charge a nominal fee to put this season on. We are setting up the registration page for dues at http://ggafl.com/sffooty so pop on over in the next week or so to register. Everyone needs to sign the waiver to play, so please go over to the website, register and sign the waiver so we can get you included for next round.

Also, head over to our facebook event page and respond as "going" so we can get a good idea on numbers and attendance for the upcoming weeks.

Greetings everyone! As mentioned in my email yesterday, I have looked into options for a potential rain out scenario. If we have rain on Saturday, the fields will likely be closed on Sunday. If that is the case, we have an alternative to play on a synthetic field in a different location (if there is no rain on Sunday but the field is closed) or postpone for the following week (if it is raining on Sunday).

If it doesnt rain and the fields are not closed, we will be on for Sunday and I will reward our sunny skies with a few cans of Mexico's finest beer. Its the closest thing to XXXX Gold we can get here in the US.

At any rate, I will send out an update to the email and post on the event page regardless of what happens, so please stay tuned. Also, please feel free to call me at 415.328.7277 or text me with the current status and I will let you know.

Hi, everyone. So it looks like this rain is unlikely to subside before Sunday, therefore we are going to have to go with plan B. Im updaring the location on the facebook event to be Danny Coyles and we will plan on meeting there with beer and footy replays at 12:30. First round is on me and we can all share our footy tips and stories.

Hope you all can make it! Drinking is as much a part of Footy as is football.

Back up plan and rain-out plan is as follows: Our league Sponsor Bar will have AFL replays on the TV and we can get together and watch the professionals do what we are trying to do! If it rains on Saturday (Looks likely) we will be there. Linke will buy the first round and put the footy on so everyone can get an idea on what the real game is like. Ill update location once it is confirmed that it is raining.
