Thought I'd post this heads-up.  21:43 Ganymede ingress transit followed 21:48 by it's shadow.  Planet rising.

If you're homebound like me tonight and looking for a little astro.

Setting up the ten.

Sky Safari also has moon orientation to look for those details ...

Shadow now fully detached from the planet’s limb.

Seeing here in my backyard in Fremont is better than previous days but Jupiter's bands look like a wavepool and the planet is jiggling like jello. I'm super oversampled for the seeing but you can start to see Ganymede's shadow and the GRS.

Very, very neat. I can see both the shadow and Ganymede in front of Jupiter. The moon itself is subtle, but it’s there.

Visible 100% of the time now as a crisp black dot.

Excellent seeing here last night.  Watched as long as I could, the brrrr factor finally worked against me.

Amazes that last night's moon and shadow transits had ingress five minutes apart but egress about 45 minutes apart. I like using 90's era TACo Akkana Peck's easy to use prediction program Gallilean to catch these events.

Seeing was only average at best from the dark site I’m at, but the shadow was a sharp black disc and Ganymede itself was easily visible, though less contrast.  The GRS was seen as a salmon-colored oval. Using an 8” off-axis mask on my 24” to not blow out my night vision.
