Howdy!

In case anyone is interested, I just published a new video on my YouTube channel to explain how to build a DIY ASCOM-compatible flat panel 😄 Check it out!

I hope you'll find it useful!

What an awesome project, Julien! I will build one for myself using the info you shared – thanks for doing this!

Let me know if you have any questions, or if anything is unclear. It is a fun little project to build, and very useful! And if you need a desoldering pump, let me know too (I made so many mistakes on this and other projects that I ended up investing in one 😂)

I have a simple hand-operated one, but thanks for the offer!
Did you end up getting one of those integrated in a desoldering gun?

I did. $40 on Amazon, but it works great and has saved my bacon a few times 😂

I am familiar with using ascom so astronomy software such as The Sky can control mounts, cameras, etc...      how does an ascom controlled display panel fit into things ?

oops, ignore that message.  I saw 'flat panel' and brain leaped to LCD display...    no, no, a panel for making FLATS, hoookay.

It’s because we remember the era when non-flat computer displays were the norm :)

I'm old enough to remember when card punches and line printers were the norm.   decwriter dot matrix printer consoles.  or selectric consoles.
