See you there!

I haven't decided when to leave. Might be as soon as tomorrow, or as late as Friday.

5 out of 5 transparency again today down here. Zero dust. Should be same over at the lake especially after the huge Saturday rain.

Nice view of the SpaceX launch last night. Damp last night and very foggy this morning. Looks like it will be drier tonight. About half a dozen folks here already. See the rest of you soon.

Wet fun! Stayed til 1am going through several eyepieces in my binocular telescope. Had to work today.

Funny the 3D eyepieces never fogged up. Eyeballs glued! Spectacular views, thank you Russ / LOA.

Never had such a wet cold (42 when I left) night in 17 years and still be that clear and dark!

As of now (Wed evening) I think I'll head down to the Field of Dreams on Thursday. Looks like Thursday night will probably be pretty good. Even if Friday night isn't as clear, I'll probably stay through at least Friday night.

Transparency low today with long con trails and things drying quickly from the weekend rains to stir up the ground but fear not,
It is still heaven on Earth with a clearing late tonight at one of the best places on Earth to see the stars and all they have created 💫

A few highlights from the SmartEye while at Galstar.  Cheating with EAA makes my 5” refractor almost a big dob!

Outstanding! So you can save these 'exposed' viewable images as well?

You did beat me in fact... When I reached, you were already pitching tent...Had 2 or 3 accidents in 101 that caused delays at several points.
My imaging session did not go well at all.. the electronic focuser refused to work and spent considerable time trying to figure it out.  I wanted to do a quick set up, start imaging and spend time enjoying views through some of scopes folks had already setup.
Alas it wasn't meant to be.  By the time I made any progress, the field of dreams had gone quiet and everyone was in their dreamland.
Morning as mentioned, I had to leave at sunrise and did not want to disturb your 'dreams'.Hopefully, we can try and catch up in Pinnacles or Fremont peak next month.

Folks who are staying over the weekend, clear skies & have a good time!
Shashi.

Yes, every time you start a “new observation” it saves the prior one. Like a visual observing log.  You can set it to save all the subs as well if you want to stack them in other software.

Shortly before the sunrise, I managed to snap 6 images of the new Comet C/2025-R3 (Panstarrs @75 Million miles) before thin clouds over the Eastern horizon blocked.
Here is the okish image of the same.  Hoping that it will survive the Sun approach today and  comes out only partially-scathed :) so I can try a better capture.

Clear Skies,
Shashi.

Splashy comet view, Shashi. Hey, I didn't hit the sack until 2:30. Were you really at it past then?
