I'm clearing out old telescope parts and came across some inventory from the telescope in this photo.  I will either give them away, donate them if wanted to a Maker Space, or possibly recycle at a metal supply biz.  Mentioning it here first.  Not sure if I have a complete set (but I could inventory it if someone is interested):

Ray Gralak and an 18" CPT f/4.5.  Airline grade 6061 T(6?) aluminum.

Thanks Gopal.  It was a very exciting experience seeing the big industrial CNC mills routing the parts. And getting to a final product.  Jim Everitt, local astronomer and machinist was integral in the process.  Our daughters were great friends.

Mark:  If you get no takers, let me know - I and/or the Telescope Makers Workshop might be interested.
I have a 14”-er I need to finish polishing out… The port hole glass came from John Dobson.

I’m interested in the optics but would probably build the rest with truss/wire so it’s portable.

Parts are spoken for.  If it doesn't work out I'll repost.

Mark:  Actually, a member of the Telescope Makers Workshop (TMW) is working on a 16” mirror, f/4.6 - his a closer fit than mine, so if it ends up with my taking it, I will pass it off to him, if that is alright with you.

Hi Ray.

Can you please steer me in the direction of this TMW? At some point I plan to become an active ATM again. Thanks!

Chris:  The Telescope Makers Workshop is (almost) every Friday evenings, from 7:00 - 10:00 PM P, up at the Chabot Space and Science Center (CSSC) in Oakland, CA.  Occasionally, CSSC rents out the lab the workshop is held in.

Speaking of truss/wire tube. Here's a sweet one I saw at OPS. I believe it's 16-20" and somewhere around f/3. Maybe Muriel or Akarsh would know better. It surprised me how sturdy it was.
