I am looking for non copyrighted black and white drawings or line drawings of galaxies, nebulae, planetary nebulae etc for a personal project.

I am looking in particular for the crescent nebula, cat’s eye nebula, Minkowski’s butterfly, merging galaxies, and others.
The aesthetic appeal is more important than accuracy. I asked ChatGPT but I was not impressed.

Thank you,

-Muriel

Muriel,

You can look thru the Astronomy Sketch Of The Day (ASOD) archive, which was administered by Jeremy Perez in AZ.  Jeremy allowed my use of anything on his personal site for non-profit writing.  You can write him, or I can ask him for you.  When I used anything on ASOD I first contacted the person for permission.

I'll also point out that Peter Natscher has been sketching for a many many years.  You might contact him, he's on this mailing list although I don't know if his sketches are digitized.
