The Orion XT8 SCAC kindly loaned me won't come to focus with some eyepieces (panview 35 for instance); the eyepieces need to be moved out further. Orion made a part # 5122 to solve this. It has a male M54 thread on the bottom, about a 1" long 2" dia tube, and a 2" eyepiece compression fitting at the top. Can't find it anywhere online.

Anyone have one I could purchase or suggestions where I could get one?

Thanks
Oliver

You just need a basic eyepiece extender. This is a link to one on Amazon.

Hi Oliver,

I couldn’t find anything on Agena. Something id recommend is to try a 2 inch to 2 inch extension tube (assuming you already have a 2 inch eyepiece holder and not ending in M54). These are not particularly expensive. If it’s ending in M54 female, then I’d recommend looking for a M54 male to M48 male adapter then attaching a 2 inch threaded extension tube to that (ones that accept filters) since the filter threads are M48.

CS!

An alternative option to try would be to re-collimate the dob moving the primary all the way back. You can also move the EP out quite a bit as 2" barrel is quite forgiving in a pinch.
