Hello
I am looking for the ServoCat DVD to change the motor parameters on my new-to-me Obsession 15 with Gen 2 ServoCat.
I am also looking to borrow the PC port cable and the 2 DB9 adaptors (one or PC/programming, the other likely labeled AN or Argo Navis.  I just want to test the pinouts so i can make my own cables.

Does anybody in the Los Gatos or south bay area have these items that i could borrow briefly?

thanks
randy

The Gen 2 has the RJ11 PC Port rather than any USB ports.

Hi Randy I have what you need -- I'm in Fremont.  Could mail to you (email your address separately)

As far as updating the SC settings, I highly recommend installing RFU 3.05, as described on the ServoCAT groups io page:

You will need a USB to serial cable with FTDI 232 chipset to use your USB port on your laptop to connect to the older serial port type.

It is now very easy to update the settings without rebooting the SC, and the Measured Gear Ratio Determination tool works great (replaced the AutoCal procedure).

RFU 3.05 runs reliably under Win11 (and earlier) - once the USB driver is configured as described in the included document "RFU.exe (3.05) - Windows 10 and 11 - Updating the ServoCAT Firmware.pdf". You must have a USB driver that supports the Latency Timer value.

This upgrade can be applied to GEN2 and GEN3 ServoCATs. Note that GEN2 ServoCATs must set the Encoder Resolution values to 1000 instead of 2000 after the upgrade.

If you would like to give it a try, send an email to bill at servocat dot com.
I'll respond with a download link to "ServoCAT-Sky-II_Setup_113_SERVOCAT-SR70F_RFU305.zip" containing the ServoCAT-Sky-II 1.13 installer, SERVOCAT-SR70F.bin and RFU 3.05.

The ServoCAT box must be upgraded to SERVOCAT-SR70F.bin in order to use the ServoCAT-Sky-II application.
Once upgraded, the older version of ServoCAT-Sky, as well as SCU.exe, can still be used as before.

Installing ServoCAT-Sky-II may require you to install .NET 8.0.
The first run of ServoCAT-Sky-II will create a new directory in your Documents directory named ServoCAT-Sky-II. This is the default directory for the application files.

Summary of ServoCAT-Sky-II...
1. On successful connection, the current parameters are read from the ServoCAT box and displayed.
2. The parameters can be saved/loaded from files.
3. The parameters can be modified and uploaded to the ServoCAT box without cycling the power (a firmware restart does occur).
4. A new extension is used for the parameter files (.par). The older format cannot be loaded or saved in ServoCAT-Sky-II.
5. There is a utility for calculating the gear ratios.
6. There is a utility for using the DSC encoder count readout to measure the gear ratios.

When using the "Measured Gear Ratio Determination" utility it is recommended to perform the measurement 5 to 10 times and average the Gear Ratio results.
