I talked to the guy over the phone. A hand-me-down through various family members; he doesn't know who made it. Look familiar to anyone? The current owner--besides having a hard time spelling 'beautiful,' says he's "not into astrology."

I'm gonna go see it, though I doubt I'll buy it. Price is too high. Plus, I am resurrecting more than one scope right now, and frankly, I already have two complete, and one half-built, ten-inchers.

Looks a lot like the beautiful Telescopes that I saw at Spring Calstar. I’m sorry I’m terrible with names, but it was a fellow who made both boats and telescopes out of different species of wood. This was an example

I saw that ad. The tube is beautiful, but in the photo the scope is pointed down and the mirror is sitting on the base!
