Behind the scenes, Jaime Dillon and I have been migrating our group's web content over to a Wordpress site at https://observers.org/       this has now gone live, if you have the old https://sites.google.com/view/observers-org/home site bookmarked, please update your bookmark to  https://observers.org/

Yes! The big moral advantage of this migration is that <observers.org> is back in our own domain. Googlized no more. You'll see the links within the site are also similarly clean. All except for the Clear Sky Clock links where we didn't bother, even though they do work fine.

John gets the main credit for this, a) for pushing the idea in the first place, b) for the design, and c) for the WordPress steps about which I didn't have a clue. I did the honorable scut work, copying and pasting and setting up simple sub-menus.

We each learned how patient the other is. It did take a measurable number of hours for both of us and we do take a bow.

Yes, thanks for the effort. Looks great. A couple of minor things:
1. The Observing Lists page returns Nothing Found
2. Would it be possible to put the lat/long coordinates of observing
sites on the Observing Sites page? Is there a way to pull those off the
Google Maps view?
3. On the Telescope Glossary, the entry on aperture fever mentions
curing it. It can be treated, but never cured :-) Aside from that, it
appears to be a pretty comprehensive glossary.
I suggest adding an entry for plate-solving, as this is becoming
increasingly common, as well as perhaps entries for some of the popular
electronic scopes (or maybe just an entry for 'electronic scope'). The
entry for 'starsplitter' could include 'Also a poem by Robert Frost
about a man who sells his farm to buy a refractor' I think many could
relate.

Thanks, Matthew! In response to your accurate points -
"1. The Observing Lists page returns Nothing Found "

Don't imagine for a minute that we aren't aware of that. The page got generated as a Category rather than a Page. WordPress can be unforgiving. If anyone knows how to fix that without losing the two appended items, The Eye Candy List and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Moon, please holler.

"2. Would it be possible to put the lat/long coordinates of observing sites on the Observing Sites page? Is there a way to pull those off the Google Maps view?"

A bunch of the sites pages do have lat/long included, not all of them. Partly, google maps won't always center on our remote sites.

Now for plate-solving, electronic scopes, anyone want to write an entry, we'll be glad to put it in. Maybe title the essay "Newfangled Gimcracks."

ok, I fixed it finally, third try was the charm.   turns out 'categories' exist only under 'posts', not 'pages', and our site is comprised entirely of 'pages'..    I've avoided 'posts' because they are more blog-like and invite comments and such, which I'm not a real fan of dealing with.

This web site is great.  As a newish observer I really like the observing sites page.  Thanks so much for all the hard work putting this together.  It is truly appreciated.

I think finding a permanent cure for aperture fever is a noble goal. The treatment available isn’t scalable and is temporary until the body develops resistance. Hopefully the next generation will work on it and lead happier lives.
