I'm excited to share that Astronomy on Tap is coming (back) to San Francisco! If you're not familiar, it's a public science series where astronomers give short, informal talks at local bars.

Our first event will be Tuesday, 10/7, at Blackhammer Brewing. We'll have two talks: one by Stanford postdoc John Franklin Crenshaw entitled "Warning: objects in mirror are farther than they appear!" on dark energy and the expansion of the universe, and one by Cal project scientist Felipe Gonzalez entitled "The alien interiors of planets and exoplanets" on using quantum mechanics to explore the insides of other worlds.

We'll be continuing to host events on a monthly basis. Happy to be getting more astronomy out into the city!
