I have seen several of these companies and a few different types of setups.  I think there is one of them in the Sierras

Astrobin lists a few https://welcome.astrobin.com/remote-astrophotography

Seems like 2 different models: 1) you send your equipment to them or go to them and then access your setup remotely; 2) you rent a setup that they have

Some of the rental sites are subscription and some are hourly or nightly.

I have my rig there. The advantage is half the price as compared to other sites in Arizona. However, last year was bad when it comes to weather

I have tried a few sites mostly in New Mexico (all the popular ones) over the years.  Main problem I had with Bray Falls starfront was they didn’t allow me to schedule a visit to setup my own gear and I had to spend considerable amount of time guiding them to get it to work. I’m talking months of waiting followed by few more months of back and forth.

For reference I take less than 10 min to setup my gear.

To make things worse they don’t (didn’t) have site cameras. I know they were working on rectifying this so unclear on current status on this.

Given the low price which leads to increased demand I feel they’re forced to enforce stricter rules for the community’s benefit but I eventually took mine down. The returned item understandably had dust but had damaged optics on my reducer which showed over worked staff that were a bit on the careless/uninformed side overall.

I can’t say anything positive about this place other than price. But price is indeed an important factor.

If one’s limited to US hosting sites I’d be happy to recommend other sites from experience. I haven’t tried sites outside the country (I consider it a one way trip for the gear given duties and such).
