I loved it!
More or less the same distance as Coe or H2O from Orinda. The drive was beautiful at sunset in through the vineyards. 
The sky was really dark, I could see the milky way distinctively and the glow of M31. 
Nice group of people too. I learned a few things and saw deep sky objects that blew my mind. It does not get any better than that.

I saw a lot of them too.  They were very bright, like a fireball streaking through the sky.  More impressive than the simple light streaks of typical meteor showers.
