So you have a good image scale, what’s the aperture on the mini-scope?

I'll guess that this is the prototype 12" travel scope that Akarsh and his friend presented at NEAF!

Yep,  that’s the mighty 12” travel scope (now presenting at TSP), next to the 48”.

O’Meara is still living in Botswana, where he’s been the past several years. I didn’t go to his two talks during the day and early evening, but we observed together (as well as Akarsh) and compared views on Lowrey’s 48” beast on Thursday night.  Lots of fun, to say the least.

To be free to roam a truly dark southern sky has its appeal. Must be observing one arc min. at a time...
