Zotero should automatically install the Word plugin on Windows when it is downloaded. If it does not, however, it is possible to solve this manually. Locate the "Zotero.dotm" file in the Zotero program file hierarchy in the C drive of a Windows computer. (The filepath should be something similar to C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero\extensions\zoteroWinWor...@zotero.org\install.) Copy this file and paste it into the Microsoft Office/Word program file hierarchy. (The filepath should be something similar to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\STARTUP.) After restarting Word, the Word plugin should appear under a new Zotero tab.
When the Zotero desktop client is closed, the Zotero Connector will save directly to the zotero.org servers. These settings let you reauthorize your broswer to save to your zotero.org account or clear your account credentials. You can also control whether PDF attachments and web page snapshots are automatically saved when importing to zotero.org.
Translators: Zotero will automatically check for and install updated translators. You can manually check for updates here. By default, the Zotero Connector will report broken site translators to zotero.org. This helps Zotero to keep the Zotero import process working smoothly on sites across the Web.
I use onenote for note taking and zotero for reference management, so I usually make a hyper link in onenote pages with zotero APP URI for rapid redirection to the target item in zotero. Zotero APP URI is a "zotero://select/library/items/V74C3DEA"-like string. It is supposed to be translated as a clickable hyperlink; however, it fails in all my cases. I have to produce such hyperlink with the ctrl+k dialog manually. It is really tiring.
Here is my question: How can I make any configurations to have onenote translate the zotero://xx URI correctly? Or is there any method that help me generate a pastable hyperlink with a fixed label and the copied zotero URI? It is a easy task in markdown by generating a string '[fixed_label](zotero://xx)' with autohotkey script, but in onenote I can't even find a clue. I wish someone will show me a practical solution. I am using win 10 Pro, currently 1903, but the issue appears in any of the earlier versions.

5. Go to the following directory within the Zotero folder: extensions\zoteroWinWor...@zotero.org\install, and then copy the file called Zotero.dotm If you do not see Zotero.dotm in this directory, try the following directory: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Zotero\extensions\zotero WinWordIn...@zotero.org\install
