Dear Sex Worker organisations,
Scarlet Alliance will apply for funding for a group of sex workers to receive Fellowships to visit Australia to attend training workshops and the 2014 AIDS Conference in July 2014.
The program is called the Australian Awards Fellowships (AAFs), funded by the Australian Government.

We ask your organisation to select sex workers to apply for Fellowships and join the group.
The cost of airfares, accommodation, visa application fees, a daily support allowance, and transport to/from the airport will be covered.
Dates are from 13 - 28 July 2014
The activities will include training workshops followed by the AIDS 2014 Conference in Melbourne.
1. 3-4 days training workshop for sex workers including leadership, advocacy, peer education, HIV responses, and site visits to sex worker services.
2. 2-3 days ASHM Leadership and Mentoring course
Preparing to participate in the AIDS Conference. A workshop with other Fellows, including non-sex worker organisational leaders working in HIV in their countries, in partnerships with Australian HIV organisations such as Scarlet Alliance, AFAO, Albion Street, and university researchers.
3. 5 days at the AIDS 2014 Conference in Melbourne.
4. 2 days ASHM Leadership and Mentoring course
Return to work plan - to use the lessons learned in your own organisation and country.
The sex workers you select will need English language skills, experience of working in regional and national advocacy work, experience in organisational activities such as developing plans for activities, community development, meeting presentations, discussion and advocacy.
For each “Fellow” please provide:
· Name (same the passport)
· Date of Birth
· Scan of the passport pages (must be valid until February 2015)
· Gender
· Current Employer or organisation that they work for as a volunteer
· Current Position
· Address
· Email contact
· Phone number
A Curriculum Vitae (CV) for each Fellow – we can help you to fill these out (see the attached form).
A letter of support for each Fellow from your sex worker organisation saying:
· Your Organisation confirms support for the fellowship activity/program
· name the Fellow/s and the reason for choosing the Fellow/s
· identify the expected outcomes and the benefit to the sex worker organisation and to the Fellows
