Hi there, Marius from Norway here.. I just got my first real Durkopp industrial machine, which I believe is a model 291.. There is a metal plate behind machine, but it looks blank.. no model number or anything else.. I have taken a lot of photos of the machine and the engine, and I wonder if anyone can help me with which needle system I should use, what bobbin I should order, what needles and thread this machine should work best with.. I´m pretty new to this so some questions might be a little "stupid" but I´m trying to learn :-) Either on the engine there is any info about it, unless the name.

Also, if anyone can clarify if it is a 291 which it looks like :-)

I guess it need a little service and some adjusting.. is there anything specific I should look after or be worried about.. anything you can say about this machine is welcome!

I have downloaded all the manuals from the durkopp site.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello Marius,

this is a Dürkopp 291-185081 or 291-185082 machine. The needle system depends on the sewing gauge assembled in the machine. An overview about the sewing systems you can find here:

Service instructions are all described in the manual of the machine.

I hope this will help you. If you have other techncial questions, please contact our agents:

Hi Thomas, thanks a lot for your reply! Really appreciate it.

Is there any quick way to explain the difference of 291 and N291 and also the difference of 164062 and 185082?

Just about to order some different needles and threads and really looking forward to start to experiment with it :-) and I´m sure it´ll be very useful for my leather work.

Thanks again! :-)

Dear Marius,

the N291 was the successor of the 291. The main reason was a facelift. The machine functions of the N291 are nearly the sameas the of the 291.

The differences of the subclasses:

291-164062:

  • Stitch length up to 6mm

291-185082:

like 164062 but

  • Stitch length up to 10mm
  • automatic stitch number correction when changing the material feed
  • automatic backtacking

Does anyone know if there is a manual on how to program this control board which is attached to the machine? The engine seems to be an Digital Rotan Synchro.. also if anyone have a manual on the engine.. to check if the plugs is attached as they should be.

hi
gianluca from italy
i am considering buiying a 295 long arm, looks like an almost new machine. I cannot find information aroud about it.
I'll need it for heavy tarpuling sewing, i'm wandering if it.can be a good choice since I nelive it.might be a machine for thick leather more then the 500 gm. policotton I use.
anyone has suggestions or know if the.295 might do the work?
by the way is it a walking foot machine?
thanks and ciao

Dear Gianluca,

I have attached some technical information about the triple feed machine class 295. The long arm version is named B295.
A parts book is available in the download section of our blog www.sew24.blogspot.com
I hope this helps to answer some of your questions.
