Sevalaya does it again ! 100% result in X exams for the 9^th time!

Thanks a lot Donors, with your support, Sevalaya proves again that if proper facilities are given, orphan, destitute and poor children can do well in studies.

Greetings from the children senior citizens, staff and trustees of Sevalaya.

Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar School has secured 100% pass in 10^th grade exams, once again. We had 94 students who appeared for this year’s exam and all of them cleared it! They are all orphan/ destitute/poor children and first generation school goers. 11 students have scored above 450 and 25 more than 400 out of 500.

V.Praveena:

V.Praveena from Melapedu comes from a poor family. Her father does not contribute much towards the family upkeep .Her mother works for daily wages. She aspires to be a doctor.

R.Nanhdhini :

R.Nandhini from Puliyurkandigai has studied in this school from Balwadi. Nandhini’s father Ravi is a driver who does not work regularly.Her mother works as a housemaid. She is very good in extra curriucular activities like debate, Sports, etc and wants to become a lawyer.

C.Mageswari:

C.Mageswari from Kasuva village has studied here from balwadi. Mageswari’s father is an agricultural coolie. Her mother stitches blouses and works as a daily wages laborer. She wants to become a doctor.

P.Kasthuri:

P. Kasthuri from Pusalimedu hails from a family of farmers. She dreams of joining the teaching field.

Out of 94 students 82 have secured first division marks. There are 9 centums in science and 1each in Maths & social science .

It is only because of the dedication of the teachers and other staff members, who realize that they are not working for mere salary and their main job is to help the poor, we are able to achieve such a result. The management wants to thank all staff members and donors who have made this happen.

We have 1700 such children now in the school and like the past 25 years, this year also we need your support. To get the initial requirements of two sets of uniforms, notebooks and other educational tools, we need an average of Rs 1000 per child. To support a child for a full year for education, it will cost Rs 6000 per child, per year. If you prefer to create an educational endowment to support on child permanently, it will cost Rs 80,000.
