Sevalaya does it again ! 100% result in 10^th grade exams!!

 

Thanks a lot Donors, with your support, Sevalaya proves again that if proper facilities are given, orphan, destitute and poor children can do well in studies.

 

Greetings from the children senior citizens, staff and trustees of Sevalaya.

 

Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar School has secured 100% pass in 10^th grade exams, once again. We had 90 students who appeared for this year’s exam and every one of them cleared it! They are all orphan/ destitute/poor children and first generation school goers. 18 students have scored above 400 out of 500.

The school toppers are Dinesh and Prithviraj.L. Dinesh Kumar’s  father manages accounts in a brickkiln at Pakkam village. S. Prithviraj’s father is a mason who lives in Pakkam village. G.Ajith’s father also is a mason at Nallkavanur village. V. Prithiba’s father is an electrician at Pakkam village.

 

It is only because of the dedication of the teachers and other staff members, who realize that they are not working for mere salary and their main job is to help the poor, we are able to achieve such a result. The management wants to thank all staff members and donors who have made this happen.

We have 1700 such children now in the school and like the past 24 years, this year also we need your support. To get the initial requirements of two sets of uniforms, notebooks and other educational tools, we need an average of Rs 1000 per child. To support a child for a full year for education, it will cost Rs 6000 per child, per year. If you prefer to create an educational endowment to support on child permanently, it will cost Rs 80,000.
