Hello SEVA friends, remember Yu-Chen from the UW who presented at our meeting a few weeks ago? Well before she launches the official EV survey she is seeking feedback from our knowledgeable EV folks to let her know if there are any changes she should make. Below is her full email I am forwarding:

Hi everyone,

I am Yu-Chen Chu, a PhD student at the University of Washington. Thank you again for the warm welcome during my presentation at the SEVA monthly meeting two weeks ago!

I have finished the first draft of my survey regarding EV evacuation, and I am looking for "EV expert eyes" to test it before the official launch. Since this is a pilot testing, I would appreciate if you could complete the survey and help me identify where the survey can be improved. Please note that you do not need to live in Okanogan, Chelan, Kittitas, Yakima, or Klickitat counties to participate in this pilot. Please answer location-specific questions based on your primary residence, regardless of where it is. If you own property or are a seasonal resident in any of these five counties, please answer based on your residence in that area.

It takes approximately 25–30 minutes to complete. Feedback by March 3rd would be ideal, but it is totally fine to have it before March 10th. Participants in this pilot phase will join our main survey pool in a drawing for 30 $20 gift cards.

I am particularly looking for feedback on:
  • Technical Accuracy: Do the questions on EV make sense to an experienced driver? Is there any critical EV knowledge I missed?
  • Clarity & Flow: Were any questions confusing, redundant, or too sensitive (e.g., address details)?
  • Fatigue Factor: How long did it take you? Should any sections be merged or removed?
  • Incentives: Is the 30 $20 drawing motivating as a participant? Would you prefer a higher amount but fewer gift cards available?
  • Visuals: Is the layout easy to navigate?
You can share your insights via email, text, or we can schedule a brief Zoom/phone call—whichever is most convenient for you.

Feel free to contact me at the following Information:

I truly appreciate your time and expertise in helping make this research as impactful as possible.

Best regards,
Yu-Chen Chu
