Meeting Notice

Advisory group for electric transportation charging infrastructure meets Sept. 29

EV charges up

Sept. 14, 2022

To all interested in electric vehicles and EV infrastucture,

The advisory group for ODOT’s Transportation Electrification Infrastructure Needs Analysis (TEINA) will hold a virtual meeting 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Sept. 29. The meeting is open to the public.

On the agenda: highlights from the TEINA 2021 report; status of Oregon’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure state plan and how these efforts complement the TEINA 2022 work; updates on the electric micromobility and hydrogen pathways studies; overview of the new TEINA dashboard and planning tools; discussion on best practices for charging infrastructure build-out and costs; and time for comments from the public.

View the full meeting agenda, and more information about the study, on the TEINA website.

About the TEINA study

The Transportation Electrification Needs Analysis study highlights charging infrastructure gaps, and proposes solutions to help accelerate widespread multimodal transportation electrification in Oregon. The study was completed in 2021. A follow-up study, Hydrogen Pathways, was completed early in 2022.

The TEINA advisory group’s 17 members represent utilities, local governments, nonprofit groups and the auto industry.

Earlier this year, the Climate Office began a study on charging needs and other support required to advance the use of electric micromobility vehicles (bicycles, scooters, etc.) in Oregon. The office expects to complete the study by early 2023.
