“EV Goddess - High Power Testing Facility Video Tour & Interview” By Luke Workman & Stephen Johnsen. Luke Workman and his wife Erika run a fantastic battery/contactor/connector/cell testing laboratory in Los Angeles. Capabilities include up to 6,500 amps continuous discharge capabilities as well as cell cycling. Also some interesting EIS (Electrochemical Impedence Spectroscopy) findings, cell temperature and destruction testing and much more! Luke is also working on building a hot-rodded Tesla Model S Plaid for racing! Luke provided some clear advice on if its worse for your battery to go from 90%-100% or from 10% to zero %... his answer may surprise you!
“4,600mile 2026 EV Roadtripping Adventure & Infrastructure Status CCS/NACS” Presentation by Stephen Johnsen. Yours truly just returned from a long EV Road trip completed in a 2015 Tesla 85D (SC01-NACS 60-126kWmax ~200mi range) and a newer Ford Lightning (paid CCS – 187kWmax ~300mi range) The trip down was from Seattle to Phoenix on I-5 via Oregon (Otmar Update), Sacramento, L.A. Then across I-10 via Blythe into AZ. I met a fantastic family of 5 from Quebec who have roadtripped all over North and Central America in their 2016 (SC01 NACS ~150kW) Tesla Model X 90D towing an AltoSafari 1,800# teardrop trailer. My own Return trip went to Las Vegas, then straight up through a remote part of Nevada, then Idaho, Oregon and Yakima. I encountered some charging and navigation issues as well as a long stretch in the middle of Nevada with no DCFC and a 4,000ft elevation gain!
