This came to the board list yesterday and I've had a bit of followup with the person who wrote.  University Unitarian Church and Temple Beth Shalom, which are on the same block of 35th Avenue Northeast, will be holding an event tentatively entitled "Environmental Resource Fair".  It's Sunday, October 30, 2:00-4:00.  They're still planning it out, but they want to have an EV parade at the beginning ("I'm hoping it will be a short circuit around the neighborhood", this person wrote me), followed by a "tailgate" until 4:00 in University Unitarian's parking lot.

I've never been entirely sure of what a "tailgate" is.  Like, everyone raises their hatchback hatches and — what, has a picnic?  Which EV models don't have hatches-or-somethings to raise?

I can let the person who wrote know which SEVA cars might be participating.  Write back to me at billyk...@gmail.com, or post here.  If the weather is passable I'd likely be bringing the Volt.  I have an association with Beth Shalom although I'm not a member of that synagogue.

Morning Billy:  SEVA....

These folks are in my neighborhood.  Just round the corner..   We used to be members of University Unitarian for some years.

I am working with them.  Meeting with them Monday.

Will let you know how things work out,  i.e.  how many cars they would like to have.

The reference to Tailgate..  It's like what you do at foot ball games, Hang out, talk, share stories....  after the little parade.

Billy, Steve,

If the weather is fair (not falling or sideways) and we are both able, O’Sparky and I would like to join the parade on the 30th.

Thx,

Ciao,

Thanks Billy,

2-4pm is good timing for a Sunday car show.  You can count on the houses of worship to schedule more considerately than the gearheads!
I'm game to come on October 30th, but would defer to a local resident if we get more takers for the tailgating.

Cheers,
Jay

After Noon SEVA  !!

Had a very nice Face to Face meeting with Tamar Libicki of Congregation
Beth Shalom in Seattle yesterday.  She is Lead for the EV part of their
Two Congregation Environmental Fair.

We have planned out our parade rout, and return to hang out in the
parking lot and Educate, Demonstrate, and Proliferate the use of
Electric Transportation to any and all who will inquire.

They have room for at least 10 cars or so from their own members of Beth
Shalom, and University Unitarian Church.  We don't know what the car
count from their own congregations will be yet. But I would say that if
3 or 4 SEVA members would like to join in, that would FIT our plans as
of this writing.

We will gather in the U U Church's parking lot  which is just to the
south of Beth Shalom at 6556 35th Ave.N.E. Seattle 98115 ( Just a few
blocks NE of the Lough Household. ), gathering at 1:30 to 1:40 pm

At our meeting she did not have a COUNT as to how many of their member
will be joining the group from their members of the two houses of worship.

I will  be supplying SEVA hand outs, and also information from the new
Electric Vehicle Association we brought back from San Diego.

Have plans to chase down and recover our SEVA Banner for the EVent.  Any
one know who has possession of the banner?

Will pick it up and return it after the event.

That's all for now.

KEEP TUNED IN !!
