Looks like Trump's high tariffs are starting to backfire. His goal was to bring manufacturing back to the US. It was never going to work and if it did not in less than 4 years. When you can't get a reasonably priced product from your favorite supplier, you start shopping elsewhere.
Here's a piece of the ridiculousness. Back in August I bought 32Gb of memory for my computer at $105. Today that exact same memory is $437.
The Chinese cars were always going to come. The US makers aren't willing to make all of the vehicle types America needs. When that happens there's a void that will be exploited by newcomers.
