I recently had my first sales which has prompted me to start listing more items, I am currently trying to add a new image to one of my listings and it keeps giving the image a black background. I created the image in Photoshop and it has a white background however when I upload the image it turns the background to black. What's up with this and how can I get the white background I want for the image?
You can't adjust that on your listing page, so go back to photo editor to fix it. Perhaps make a copy of the dodgy one and rejig with the correct background and then try to upload it. Is it showing as black when published I wonder? Perhaps the glitch is only seen on listing page?
I have found that when removing backgrounds (making it transparent) it always shows up black on Etsy. Using the Magic Wand Tool, select the back ground. Then use the Paint Bucket Tool and fill with white (or any other color you like). I hope this helps.
Bring that color clip to your timeline and place it on v1 and extend it for as long as you want your video to last. Place all of your pictures on video tracks above v1. Now, you will have a white background for your video.
On channel V1 I made the white color according to your instructions (4:3 ratio) and then, I put in channel V2 video with black background. (Also 4:3 ratio). I exported the project, but the background remains black. can you help me?
Both channels are in visible condition.
Thank you.
Unfortunately, your video has black padding in it instead of transparency. Also, you probably want the height to fill the output video frame. If so, add Rotate and Scale filter to increase the size using the Scale parameter. In either case, next add the Crop: Rectangle filter. In the crop, filter you need to change Padding color. Click the color block to open the color dialog, set Alpha channel to 0, and click OK.
I think you have lost the point of the Crop:Rectangle filter. You can crop your video to get rid off the black in the background. To remove the black, what you need to do is in the Crop: Retangle filter, set Padding Color, his alpha channel to a value equal 0, so you will only see the rectangle you have selected with the clipping (crop filter)
And the second qu estion: you need to cut the video on each photo and then apply the crop on each piece.
As I do with most of my images, I start with pulling down ever so slightly on the highlights and blacks and increasing whites and shadows. I also find I need to warm up my subject a tad, so I will temperature and exposure to create a slightly warmer look. Of course, you will have to experiment with this to see what works best for your style.
As tempting as it may seem in your effort to help darken the background, do not just yank down your black and shadows for the whole image when post-processing these. Doing so can create a sharp unnatural edge to your subjects. Keep in mind how light and shadows naturally and gradually fall. You want that look, not a cut-and-paste appearance.
I am experiencing an issue with all transparent png files copied from Chrome and pasted into Photoshop CS6. The background is black rather than transparent. These images are one I created and exported using "save for web". It worked fine in CS5 so it must be a bug.
Hi, I was facing a similar problem. The black background was appearing in Adobe Illustrator. Thanks to your comment, in PS, I changed from indexed image to RGB and the image now appears correctly in Illustrator.
Hmm, just tried Paint and it does exactly that. But pasted again into MS Word and the transparency was fine, so the info is in there. Then immediately pasted into PhotoShop and, as usual, black square. Maybe someone should introduce the Microsoft devs to the Adobe devs and also to the other Microsoft devs. I don't think they have all met.
1) Closing and opening Outlook 2 or 3 times can cause the correct (white) background to appear and thus readable.
2) Save the email to a separate .pst data file, close and open Outlook, selecting the email from the .pst data file results in a readable email.
3) Start Outlook in Safe mode (hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the Outlook shortcut and click Yes to open in Safe Mode).
So, is this an Outlook issue or just a mobile phone issue? I have someone in our office that, when she sends from her phone, email delivers in black but, when she sends from her desktop, it comes in normal.
Ticking the box Enable experimental features (may be unstable) in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Advanced allows LibreOffice to pick up the Dark theme from Windows so you will get dark background but grey text (visible) in the menus but the working area will remain light grey. This might be best for you if you are mixing normal access and RDP. I think with RDP choices can sometimes be limited.
I have an image with a black background, and want to put text on top of it, so that it cuts around the text, leaving it white. I have tried push to front, but it cuts all of the background first, then cuts the text into it. Is there a way to get the text to be untouched?
Probably the hardest of the studio photography setups to nail, photographing black backgrounds well and specifically black dogs on a black background, is the most frequently asked studio question I get. So today, we cover that!
A trick when it's in the alpha channel is simply to CTRL+Click on the alpha channel's small preview to select it and then create a mask on the layer with the black background from the selection. (Then you can delete the alpha channel)
I had this problem when I installed Ubuntu-Gnome 13.10. For me, in order to use a background, I can not use the settings as they just leave me a white screen. Instead, I choose any screen I want to use with Firefox. I right click on the image and choose to use as background. This actually works with the options for stretch, fit, tile, etc.
Hello,
The background in my renders is coming up black, Before it used to just be a light gray background under the horizon.
I tried changing the background number from 1, to 10, to 100 and still no difference
I also have another issue where when I use the Cpu to render the water comes up much more life like but when I use the gpu as the render engine it comes up flat
I prefer using the gpu as it is much faster
Opt 2: Change HDRIs - The HDRIs in Cosmos also have black ground planes but the ones generated using Light Gen are grey still (for now). Generate a few options and pick the one you like best.

However, most studies have shown that dark characters on a light background are superior to light characters on a dark background (when the refresh rate is fairly high). For example, Bauer and Cavonius (1980) found that participants were 26% more accurate in reading text when they read it with dark characters on a light background.
My Colleagues are suggesting having a black background with white text and think a white background is boring. I disagree do you? The background on this website is very nice, with the strip of gray and black at the top and bottom. Do think white is a good background color? Comment on my blog post, I would really like to see your answer, thankyou!
Then I click Add and then select the polylines to add label to. It will add elevation number with background mask on each polyline just perfectly. I can see them and I can edit them in both model space and paper space. But when I print a pdf of it, all the labels with background masks are not printed, instead is just a black empty box.
The background mask was probably created when the drawing areas setting in the options was set to black, then the background was change to white, to resemble paper. If you change back to the black background the problem should resolve itself.
Just a suggestion. If you really can't find any other way like plot settings or printer setup, I think you can force the background mask to be White by amending the style you are using. See image below as a workaround and sample PDF attached.
As long as Color 255 is set to print as Color 255, with dither and gray scale off it acts as no color (the color of the paper will show) in the pen/plot settings. The color "White" (color no. 7) prints as black (by default) or as configured in the plots settings.
I added a site map to a sheet layout that was previously plotting ok and made some VP override changes to the site map viewport. Suddenly the masking behind my labels started printing black. I clicked into the site map viewport that was using overrides to make it active, right-clicked in layer properties window, clicked 'Remove Viewport Overrides for', 'All layers', 'In current viewport only', and it fixed the issue. I can still use the VP Color to change colors and VP Freezing to turn layers on/off in viewports, but as soon as I use any VP Transparency overrides, the masking issue returns.
I'm still having issues with segment line labels. Attached are two images. One was printed to pdf using the default DWG to PDF .pc3 file in Civil 3D 2020 and it worked. The other was printed to pdf using the default DWG to PDF .pc3 file in Civil 3D 2021 and it didn't work. As you can see using the default DWG to PDF in 2020 the segment lane labels print correctly and in 2021 they print with a solid fill (all black). I looked through all the print settings side by side and they are all identical. Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated.
I had multiple viewports on layout and had issues with the black masking on parcel notes in one viewport. The VP transparency over rides in another viewport were the cause of my black masks for parcels notes. I removed the VP transparencies in the other viewport and the black masks in the other viewport went away. I had set the VP transparency to 50 for all the layers in one viewport. The black masks showed up in another viewport. Returned VP transparency to 0 in other viewport and the black masks went away.
