I have Nexus 4 w/JB 4.3 and had to uninstall SP because it was not working properly any more.

Yeah, that's why i switched to Tasker... it's a lot more fiddly than sp... but at least it's getting updated...

No one knows for sure. The developers are not responding to emails. The last correspondence and update was November 2012. If it's not going to be updated, it seems a shame that it's still available for purchase in the Play Store (although I guess it's OK for some phones, because it still works for me on my Droid Razr Maxx).

Just in case, I'm looking at some alternatives. I have Tasker, but I find it too complicated to use. AutomateIt is probably just as powerful, but less intimidating. However, it doesn't seem to have a list of "profiles" like SP. Even so, I think with the Rule paradigm you could recreate all you needed. You just wouldn't have a screen to select from a list of profiles (although you can have widgets that will trigger profiles/rules). It does have the new activity trigger, though, that works sometimes and can tell if you're in a car, on a bike, or walking. Only works sometimes for me.

I've also looked at others. I thought Phone Weaver might be promising, but it doesn't have the advance rule structure of SP (and the same comment applies to MyProfiles+ (I think that's what it is called)). I just started looking at something called Impel, which seems to be a new app, and is by an XDA group developer. It seems to be quite robust, although it would not switch on GPS for me during a test even though my phone is rooted.

Anyway, SP still seems to have the best options and interface and it sure would be nice if they'd continue developing and improving it. ;-)

It works on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 both running CyanogenMod 10.1 (Android 4.2).

Have you tried Llama?? If not, give it a try. It's worth the try

I've tried Llama.  It's 'almost' good but I still found it lacking in some areas.  The thing for me that separate SP is the widget and the and/or logic.  So far, nothing can compare with both of those included.

On my S4 which is not rooted (it's a work phone, not allowed to root) SP does not work properly much of the time.  At times it works fine and then next thing you know, it doesn't know a certain state status that it knew the previous day.  So for instance I have a few rules that should not fire if connected to any Bluetooth.  It usually works, but at least two or three times a week, it doesn't and another rule fires.  Same with power status, same with wifi status.  I think on unrooted S4's there are time when it can detect system states and other times where it can't.  Unfortunately, I think this is an issue with Google locking down many things in certain scenarios because in my testing other apps, I get much of the same thing although some better results than others.  I've been testing Profile Scheduler because it has a fairly good widget.  It's not bad so far...but still misses on rules and switching.   At this point seems that all we can do is use these programs to setup profiles and then manually switch if we want reliability.

I have tried Llama. As Todd notes, it's lacking in some features, especially logical rules. The interface is a bit minimal as well. However, it does work well and my wife used it on her phone because she has less need for what SP offers.

So far I have found several profile apps, but none with the robust rules of SP. I think that so far in my experimentation AutomateIt and Impel show the most promise for the rules issue. I am using AutomateIt to augment SP because AutomateIt can detect when I am in my car.

Todd: I see you mentioned Profile Scheduler. I've tried that in the past. I like the interface. However, do you use it to turn on GPS? If so, how do you get it to work? My phone is rooted so I use Secure Settings with SP to turn GPS on and off but Profile Scheduler doesn't seem to offer this or any type of features for root access. Thx.
