TheTIR is a copy of your answers along with the questions and correct answers from the test, delivered after your scores are released. It is offered only three tests a year, and ACT is the only standardized test that offers this option for you to learn from your personal test performance to boost your scores.

Place the TIR in your cart and enter the SEPTTIR voucher code provided during the checkout process on MyACT to receive $9 off. Note: This code is only applicable for the base exam and TIR when purchased separately. If you are wanting to register for the September test and purchase your TIR at the same time, you must complete each transaction separately to receive $9 off the TIR. Once this promo code is used, no other offers are applicable. This code is non-transferable, cannot be combined with other offers, and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit. Add-ons and/or additional products or services are not covered, including but not limited to the writing exam, additional test preparation solutions not specified or additional score reports.

Registration is only open for test dates in September through February (listed below).

Sign up to receive a registration reminder and notification once registration opens for test dates in April through July.

You may not receive scores from more than one test date during a scheduled national (Saturday, non-Saturday, or rescheduled test date arranged by ACT). If you are admitted and allowed to test a second time, we will report only the scores from the first test. The second or third set of scores will be cancelled without refund.

You may not receive scores from more than one test date per state administration (initial or makeup) if your school participates in ACT State and District Testing. If you are allowed to test more than once, we will report only the scores from the first test. The second set of scores will be cancelled.

Test Center Change for the same test date - If a seat and materials are available for your test option at your new preferred test center on your preferred test date, you will be able to make a test center change. You cannot request a test center change after the late registration deadline. Instead, find out about requesting standby testing.

Test Date Change - A test date change can be used to sign up for a different test date if you are absent or unable to test on the original test date or if your registration is cancelled for failure to meet ACT's test security requirements.

IMPORTANT: Once you break the seal on your test booklet, you cannot later request a test date change, even if you do not complete all your tests. You must register again and pay the full fee for your test option if you want to retest.

Log in to your MyACT account and select "Make Changes to Your Registration" or call ACT Registration at 319.337.1270 by the regular deadline for the new test date. You will be charged the full fee for the new test date in addition to the test date change fee.

If you call during the late registration period, you will also be charged a late fee. In either case, your basic fee for the original test date will be refunded. (If you register for a new test date instead of making a test date change, your basic fee for the original test date will not be refunded.)

If you decide you do not want to test on another test date, your registration fee and any additional fees (such as late fee or test center change fee) are nonrefundable. If you do not test, no score reports will be sent.

If you miss the late deadline to register for a test date, or to request a test date or test center change, you may choose to sign in to your ACT account to request and pay for standby testing. Accommodations may be available for standby testing, but seats are not guaranteed. You may contact ACT to see if there is an available seat, test materials, and staff to administer the test.

Prohibited Aids During Licensing Exams

Cell phones, telephones, books, notes, smart watch, dictionaries, translators, or any handheld electronic or photographic devices, unless otherwise stated above, are NOT allowed to be used during the test or breaks or brought into the examination room.

Examinees shall not share, copy, or in any way reproduce any part of the examination. The TCEQ may revoke a license or deny a license application if the applicant has engaged in fraud or deceit in obtaining or applying for the license.

A criminal background check (CBC) must be completed through the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) based on a set of fingerprints provided to MorphoTrust. The BON cannot accept fingerprint cards or criminal background check results mailed by you, or results that were completed for another facility, even if the previous check was completed through the DPS and the FBI.

Ten business days after the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) has received your application, submit your fingerprints to MorphoTrust (IdentoGo)

Note: The BON will be updating the process in which applicants submit fingerprints to MorphoTrust. The updated process, which uses service codes instead of Fast Passes and ORI numbers, will be more streamlined and user-friendly when scheduling a fingerprinting appointment, registering fingerprints with MorphoTrust, and getting results to the Board. The updated process will also require the use of a unique identifier which will no longer be related to a U.S. issued social security number or a BON assigned number, but rather in the form of an email. Our website and applications/instructions will provide more information at the beginning of January 2016.

NOTE: You do not need to complete this step if you already have a criminal background check on file with the BON. If you are a STUDENT APPLICANT, who has not undergone the CBC process, you must contact your prospective nursing program instead of following this process. Use the following link to verify a previous CBC on file with our office:

The following information will assist you in completing the fingerprinting process:

If you are a Texas resident follow the instructions:

For Applicants Residing in Texas

If you are not a Texas resident follow the instructions:

For Applicants Residing Outside of Texas

If you do not have a U.S. issued Social Security number, follow the instructions:

For Applicants Without a Social Security Number

The Texas Board of Nursing does not make judgments regarding the fingerprints that are submitted. Occasionally the DPS and/or the FBI will notify the BON that the fingerprints submitted were not usable and/or readable and therefore have been rejected. You will be notified if a rejection has been received and another set of fingerprints is required. The BON can only submit a request to initiate a name search on your behalf if our office has received two (2) quality rejections from the FBI. A rejection for any other reason (i.e. smudging, impressions too light, etc.) would not count toward this requirement.

You must pass the Texas nursing jurisprudence examination prior to being issued an authorization to test (ATT) for the NCLEX examination. Instructions on taking the Texas nursing jurisprudence examination:

When you graduate from an approved school of nursing, Texas schools of nursing will submit an online affidavit of graduation directly to the BON. Did you graduate outside the State of Texas? If yes, print the affidavit of graduation. (LVN or RN) from the BON website. Request that your school of nursing dean/director complete the affidavit and mail it directly to the BON.

Take the exam. The BON will receive your results from Pearson/Vue within five working days after you take your test. Upon successfully passing the NCLEX, you will receive a certificate. To access your license, you must go the agency website at www.bon.texas.gov and complete an online verification. You can print the verification as proof of licensure. If you are unsuccessful on the NCLEX, you will receive a diagnostic profile providing you feedback on your performance on the exam.

The streamlined medical exam is a simplified medical exam that we may request during certain urgent operational situations, like a humanitarian crisis, and in other exceptional situations as determined by IRCC.

You may be referred to a specialist for more testing, depending on the results of your medical exam. Complete this request as soon as possible to avoid delays in the processing of your medical examination.

When you have an upfront medical exam, the physician will ask you to fill out an IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report. You must include a copy of the report with your paper application. If you apply online, you must upload the report before you can submit your application.
