Holsters, let me tell you about holsters. It has been a long road to find a few holsters that work with the way I dress, that are comfortable, and work with how I want to carry. Because of this, I own a lot of holsters.
The INCOG is made by G-Code Holsters and you can purchase it directly from them or from the Haley Strategic web store. The INCOG is a minimalist IWB holster that can be worn at any position but it shines at appendix carry. The holster is not light compatible and as of writing is being made for GLOCKs, M&Ps, 1911s, FN FNS, XDs, and Lionheart LH-9 series pistols. The holster I purchased was for a GLOCK 19 with an RDS at the rear.
The INCOG has a couple stand out features that set it apart from the rest of the IWB crowd. It has a synthetic suede that covers the exterior of the holster that G-Code calls Tactical Fuzz. The fuzz does a couple of things; it adds comfort against your skin if you are wearing it without an undershirt. The fuzz wicks away sweat between your body and the holster, and it also does an excellent job of keeping the holster in place. All the holster edges are rounded and polished and fuzz has yet to pull up at any wear points.
The INGOG belt clips open and slide down over the top of your belt and lock in place after they clear the belt. They have a finger tab just under the clip for easy removal, just lift up on the tab and pull off the holster. They can be very easily swapped or moved around to best fit your style of carry, from cant to ride hight. Through thousands of draws I have not once had the clips fail to retain the holster and now I only run the holster with one clip.
The INCOG features a retention screw right above the spacer to tighten down the retention on the pistol. I kind of hate these but this one does not seem to bug me that much. Get it where you want it and Loctite it. The draw is very smooth with limited holster contact limiting the holster wear on your gun. Reholstering is also very smooth.
I am currently running my INCOG based off a suggestion from the guys at PhLster Holsters with just one clip. This allows the holster to move with you, which I agree is the way to go when running it for appendix carry. As I mentioned above, I have had no issue running just one clip and keeping retention to my belt. I think this says a lot for the quality and design of the clip. With the holster you can also order a mag caddy, but this was something I felt I would take off and rarely use.
Overall the ICOG is my daily carry and I love it. The ability to quickly take it on and off without removing your belt or dealing with loops is such a huge plus for this holster. It has changed the way I carry and in the end allows me to carry more often. Its solidly made and works for my needs. The INCOG is a dual-clip, IWB holster featuring a modest selection of color combinations for the fuzz / Kydex, as well as a lengthier list of color options for the MOJO mount. There are a multitude of firearms options which come in both left- and right-hand models, two clip lengths and shirt guards, and even an option for a magazine caddy.
The INCOG can also be purchased with a removable, side-riding magazine caddy and there are INCOG Shadow light-bearing models, as well. The light selection revolves around Surefire, StreamLight, and INFORCE.
Roughly a year later, late-2014, the Eclipse was announced as another collaborative piece between HSP and G-Code. Upon seeing the first pictures of the system, it was apparent that the development team took all the complaints and suggestions into account for the update.
The first thing to note is the elimination of the front-end belt-clip assembly. With the additional development of the SuperMOJO stand-off mount (the purple device in the above photo), they were able to pull the rear belt-clip more towards the center of the shell itself. Due to the elimination and rearranging of the belt-clip mounting sections, the holster became more streamlined. A couple of other noteworthy points include a raised spine for suppressor-height sight usage and a less prominent shirt-guard option.
As far as mounting hardware goes, not much changed between the INCOG and the Eclipse. The set screws and belt-clips were interchangeable. The clips themselves come either with three or four mounting holes with the latter being for deeper carry. The MOJO faces themselves have a 33 mounting pattern which is nice for someone that wants to mount the belt-clip at an offset angle as opposed to a conventional inline. The belt-clip, on the purple SuperMOJO, was set to kick the grip of the P320 forward against the body as opposed to having to draw it straight up-and-out (as I like to run mine).
Generation-3 came out in November of 2018. The PHENOM series was offered in two lines: Speed and Stealth. The latter retained more of the older pattern that had been seen prior; retaining the tactical fuzz, but also covering the interior of the shell with it as well.
Product quality has never diminished over time and the finer points of the newer variants have been sharpened based on consumer input. The absolutely consistency of the products produced are continuously impressive and G-Code offers their holsters for a modest number of different handgun types. One wish-list item that I do have is a CZ P-10C Suppressor Ready specific holster or a Glock-19 / P-10C compatible holster.
The G-Code Paddle is a durable multi-positional and ambidextrous outside the waistband holster attachment. With a 1.5" hole spacing, it is compatible with all of our OWB holsters, magazine and AR mag carriers.
How high does the holster ride?
This holster rides about an inch and a half higher than some of the other holsters that use Safariland accessories. Our included belt slide attachment places the holster at a standard height, but the Safariland paddle does place the holster into a high-ride position. What other common pistol modifications are compatible with this holster?
The M7 often supports suppressor-height sights, threaded barrels, and compensators. However, you must verify proper fit and function. Please refer to our safety information.
Is this holster concealable?
Yes, under the right conditions. The M7 is best suited for open carry but can be concealed under a jacket or loose shirt. The holster has built-in cant to reduces printing, and the Werkz Belt Slide allows you to dial in more (or less) cant as you see fit.What positions can I wear this holster in?
The M7 is designed for outside-the-waistband on the hip. However, accessories from Werkz LLC or other companies designed to fit the Safariland pattern include drop holsters, thigh rigs, chest rigs, MOLLE attachments, allowing you to adapt this holster to a number of carry positions.What is the standard cant on this holster?
The M7 has 5 degrees of positive (forward) cant for a better draw. The Werkz Belt Slide (included) allows for you to adjust cant positively or negatively to suit your particular carry style.
Does this holster have active duty retention?
No. This holster has passive click-in retention.How can I adjust retention?
Retention is adjusted using the retention adjustment screws.
