there's little to it but what the subject lists. It seems to have played out the same way as it did for users ranging from a couple days to several years ago, Chrome Crashed > certain apps needed repair > I lost several hundred (possibly a thousand considering the various snapshots) saved tabs spanning several sessions.
Please try to pre-empt and save users this hassle. My suggestions:
- Notify users to not repair the extension when prompted by Chrome (perhaps run routine/periodic checks/queries to see if the extension isn't running and check if Google would ask the user to repair).
- Put this in your extension description or something.
- Create automated backups locally routinely (once in a week or rarer than that is good too).
I'm terribly distraught man. I could use something going my way for a change. It doesn't help that users from ages ago faced this too.
