Hi Hans, hi all.

I have two SBs installed on both Edge AND Chrome on my dear old W10 PC, and I'm upgrading to a new PC with W11, also with both Chrome and Edge.

So, I saved the 2 SB backup files (one from Edge SB and one from Chrome SB) and also 2 SB data backup files (from C:\Users\myself\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB), as the SB Support pages instructed.

The problem comes when I try to restore the Chrome Bkp file on the new W11 PC:

1. Chrome opened only 5 browser windows instead of the 15 windows that I have on the old W10 PC.

2. Within one of the 5 windows, there are several tabs that actually pertained to different windows at the moment of creating the Backup file.

Is there any help, please?

Thanks!

Roberto

As I understand it, you used the Restore function to restore the backup files.

Restore recreates all of your saved collections and history. The restore process doesn't open any windows.

Furthermore, backup doesn't include open tabs (unless there's a recent version in history or you save them explicitly as a collection before running backup).

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks,
Hans

Hi Hans, thanks.
I believe that Restore doesn't open any window.
It is Chrome  that opened 5 windows instead of the 15 that I had in the backup file I created.
And the (few, many are missing) tabs that Chrome did open, are all mixed in different windows from the ones in which I saved the tabs in the Backup file.
Yes, I created a new collection before running Backup, exactly not to loose any tab.
Thanks,
Roberto

Yes, that's what I did.

Sure, sorry.
I meant "by clicking on the first collection at the top of the collection list after Restore"

Furthermore, backup doesn't include open tabs (unless there's a recent version in history or you save them explicitly as a collection before running backup).

I saved a new collection with 15 windows. It was on top of the list just before I created the Backup file, because I needed to include all open windows as well.

I wonder if it would be possible for me to send you the Backup file I created and check if there is any error?

Thanx,
Roberto

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks,
Hans

Please, is there an email I can send the Backup files to?
I've created two, one from Chrome and one from Edge.
Thanks!
