When extension data gets deleted or corrupted, this manifests as a "Session buddy has been updated" message when it restarts even though there was no update, so this is likely not related to SB updating (also, the last update was on April 4).
The question remains why extension data was cleared in your case. There are some external factors that extensions cannot protect against that could cause this. If you're willing to share some info about your setup, we'd like to help you identify the cause so you might be able to avoid this in the future. You can respond directly to
sup...@sessionbuddy.com if you'd like.
- what browser and version are you using?
- did the error occur during or after a browser update?
- are you running or did you run any sort of "cleaner" or "tuneup" tools? (eg, CCleaner, Avast Cleanup)
- did you run Windows Restore recently?
- in the browser dev tools Application tab, expand IndexedDB on the left, then click nxsCollections. What is the information on the right? (copy/paste or screenshot). You can open dev tools via Chrome menu > More tools > Developer tools while SB tab is open and focused.
- are there any errors reported in the console? (if this happens again, immediately check the
Session Buddy console for errors)

We are planning to introduce a cloud backup/sync feature that will, among other benefits, protect against loss of data due to local factors.
