Session Buddy for Microsoft Edge browser

Hi. Is there a new version of Session Buddy now for MS Edge browser? I would like to start using that browser instead of Chrome but I checked for extensions on MS Extension site and do not see it listed.

Not yet. There are a few features prioritized ahead of this but it's something we'd like to get out this year for sure.

Thanks Hans.  I was on your website and selected download in Edge and the Extension installed into Edge....so far seems to work... but I assume it is going to have issues since you said it is not ready for Edge yet.

That will work for most extensions since Edge does support installs from the Chrome Web Store, but there may be edge cases (sorry, bad pun) that affect behavior or break things. We're not sure what those are yet. The effort to support an official version of SB for the MS Add-on Store would involve extensive testing and adjustments where needed.

So the suggestion is not to install SB extension in Edge, otherwise it might compromise its use with Chrome.

Is this right?

I use SessionBuddy with Edge as well as Chrome every day. It works quite well. They run under totally separate profiles and do not conflict with each other.

I recently had an issue where SB got corrupted somehow and stopped working in Edge. I posted here about it, actually, fearing that maybe Edge support had been dropped and it had intentionally been disabled. At Hans' suggestion I backed up the SB database, deleted the extension, reinstalled from the Chrome store, and restored the database. That fixed it.

Not sure what you mean Roberto. It wouldn't affect its use with Chrome since it's a separate install.

In all honesty, it will likely work just fine without any issues. I tend to play it safe and just want folks to be aware that its use with Edge hasn't been officially vetted.
