What I have done:
- I restarted my MacBook and Chrome
- I worked for about 1-2 hours in Chrome
- I can see the SessionBuddy icon

What I see:
- there is no counter on the icon anymore
- when I click on the icon, the plugin does not start

What I have done:
- I disabled and re-enabled the plugin
- I checked the version: 4.1.2

What I still see:
- there is no counter on the icon anymore
- when I click on the icon, the plugin does not start

Update:
- while I was writing these lines, it became active (counter/plugin view), maybe after 10 or more minutes
- it should be responsive right after the update or at least show some status (I assume there are some upgrade scripts?)

Thanks for letting me know about this.

Unfortunately this is a Chrome issue. The update process has known reliability problems and is not something extensions have any control over. The most recent release was pretty simple and did not involve any migration/upgrade process within the extension itself.

In my experience when extensions get stuck, sometimes disabling/re-enabling is not enough... or doing it multiple times eventually works. Most of the time though a restart  will fix the issue.
