I have a bunch of sessions saved on my PC but need to format due to
some other problems with the OS/hardware.

I would love to have been able to Export or Save my sessions to a file
(similarly to a Outlook .pst) and then be able to Import then or
restore them back into Session Buddy once my system is back up and
running.

Basic functionality I would have thought.

Hopefully something for you to consider.

Thanks

If you're on Vista/win7, copy the following SB data file and restore it when you're done with the format:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage\chrome-extension_edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko_0.localstorage

Yup, bulk sessions import/export is coming soon.

As "Deyaa Eldeen" was discussing on Dec 14, 2010, it would be great to
be able to tell Session Buddy to save to an online space, and be able
to resume the same browsing session on another computer at a later
time. Google Chrome-to-Phone reminds me of this idea, and someone
wrote a Chrome extension "android2cloud" to do the reverse.

One problem is that the session buddy export has multiple formats, for
example the CSV format, which session import does not understand.
Import only understands simple lists of URls. It would be better if

1. import should understand CSV and maybe even the text format (with
comments)

2. import/export should work with files and not just cut/paste into a
window

3. (the holy grail) if import/export could work against Google
Bookmarks in the cloud, including functions such as operating only
one a single window (with multiple tabs) against a single Google
Bookmarks folder, or doing ALL windows/tabs against a (hierarchical)
Google Bookmarks folder.

None of the many "Google Bookmarks" extensions even know how to save
an entire window worth of tabs in one operation, which is rather weak.
If SB could do this then it could supplant many of the Google
Bookmarks extensions out there.

I would like an export feature as well, maybe in the same style as
when you export a set of bookmarks, where it can be accessed from a
user folder. This would be great feature, if you have to uninstall
Chrome for some reason and want to be able to begin where you left off
last time.
I love this extension, by the way, one of my favorites.

My old laptop died. I'm currently borrowing someone else's, using my chrome browser synced with my google account. How do I export the buddy sessions on here so I can upload/restore them to any new laptop I buy? I need walking through it. Do I go to Export, save all sessions, text file, which boxes do I tick, Sessions, Windows, Titles, URLS? What do CSV, Mardown etc mean? I need the simplest method, thanks.
