Not sure if a Chrome update finally broke the extension or something, but I have a session with 10 windows and I'm unable to restore the complete session.  It's only able to re-open the first window and then I have to manually open the other ones myself.

I'm not able to reproduce that issue.

Are there any errors in the Session Buddy console after attempting to open?

Hi Hans,

Here's what I found in the console:

the above in context:

The tabs with the little blue Icon (to the left, low on the list) are the ones that are blocked. As you see, not all are. And, I have the impression that some had the icon yesterday and don't today:

When I go to open a tab with the blue icon, I get this message:

Any ideas? I should say I have a lot of tabs open and the ones that have the blue icon are old. But this was never a problem before. Thanks for your help!

Gerard

Those are Great Suspender links (the blue puzzle icon means it's an extension url).

Great Suspender is an extension that has been marked as malware, so Chrome is trying to protect you by blocking its links. See more here: https://github.com/greatsuspender/thegreatsuspender/issues/1263

You can either delete the links from the session or export the session, edit the links to their original (non-suspended) versions, and re-import.

FIY, The Great Suspender's successor, is called The Marvellous Suspender and afaict works marvelously together with Session Buddy.

Thanks Hans.

I glanced at the article. Is that ban permanent? How is Session Buddy advising their users who are on chrome? Is there a workaround?

I tried but couldn't see how to export a session to edit the links to then re-import. Is this the workaround? I have a lot of links from prior research that I'd like to save. Is there any way to batch process the relinking?

Thanks for your help with this.

I'm understanding more now. I was wondering how the Great Suspender links got there but I"m guessing that they were created when I used the Great Suspender extension before it was banned. Is that possible?

Please let me know how to export and reimport so that I can save some of links. Thanks again.

Hi, I figured out how to do it. Now that the Great Suspender is off I shouldn't have this problem. It's deactivated. Should I remove it completely? Thanks. GS

Yes it's permanently banned. May as well remove it completely. As someone else mentioned there are legit alternatives available. However, I think Chrome suspends tabs itself now so I'm unsure of the value such an extension provides at this point.

Yep

Lemme know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,
Hans
