too often, autosave has not saved me when i needed to suddenly 'close all windows' and SB had no sessions from same day or recent days to restore.

i have autosaved checked btw.  so if you have any ideas where i can look to find today's last session, if it isn't too difficult to restore, i'm ready to give it a try.

I've been experiencing this, too.

SB has worked fine for me for years, but over the last few weeks, it's not Recording my current session very often. I'll spend all day with these tabs open, restart my computer the next day, and the most recent session available is from 2 or 3 days before. Weird.

I thought I was the only one. I've noticed this behaviour too and it's been happening for months. If I don't use chrome's native restore session functionality, the most recent backup session buddy recorded was 3 days ago. What's wrong with auto-save and why isn't it working?

There is NO auto save! There never has been! It is a much requested addition.

There is a settings option on the General tab, "Automatically record sessions and show up to...". This does NOT save "every 5 minutes", it only saves (as far as I can tell), when ALL windows of Chrome are shutdown, and then it saves only the last window closed.

So, you MUST make it a habit (put it on your calendar as a recurring event!), to click the Settings Gear Icon, "back up", and specify the folder to save it. I always save the backup to my Google Drive, a folder called "Session Buddy". Then the backup file is "backed up" already.

By the way, when session buddy says "Backup file saved to downloads folder", it is a misnomer! It is NOT saved yet, it will be saved to the folder you point to on the next screen before you click Save. Any folder, not necessarily the Windows "Download" folder.

Go to Settings, Help, and search for "auto save". The threads all discuss an enhancement wanted, not implemented.

Hope I got it right. I'm not an expert, just a multi-year user. I love it, but it's not perfect. I'm like others who have posted in the past - I would pay a few dollars for an enhanced version.

BTW, the confusion might come because you used to shutdown Chrome all the time, so there was always a recent backup. Now that you've gotten used to Session Buddy, you never shut Chrome down except to reboot the computer (rarely, if possible). :)

Thanks,
Joe.

There is NO auto save setting, but the app is AUTO-SAVING almost daily, but not the most recent 5 days before the browser finally crashes/closes (which isn't a problem) or freezes to where i must manually 'end task' for google by task manager afterwhich the browser can't 'restore' the last session properly if at all and session buddy has no recent AUTO SAVE.  the most recent AUTO SAVE is 5 days old (which i'm forced to use, but loses all my open tabs research of the last 5 days (easily a 100+ tab difference).

An AUTOSAVE that we can set to every 5 or 10 minutes would be nice, one that notifies us when it has stopped regular autosaving so we can manually SAVE and/or reboot our browser before it crashes/freezes.
