OK, so, I have a big JSON file containing all of my S.B. data, including sessions & collections that I thought I lost a couple of months ago -- & I'm so happy to have found them again! ^_^ But I can't import the data file into the Restore pop-up, because I get a message saying, "Invalid Session Buddy export file." :-( And I don't know why that is -- isn't my saved data file the same file format as an ordinary S.B. import/export file (i.e., JSON)? Surely, there must be SOMETHING I can do to convert the data file into a restorable format!

So, what do I do? And can anyone help me?

Seems to restore fine for me (20 collections).

Can you send a screenshot of the failure, including the Session Buddy console?

Hans

Wait, how do I do the console thing again? :? I forgot... ^^;;

Also, I have another problem I just found out: My Session Buddy hasn't added any of my sessions since I first took it to the Geek Squad at the start of February. :-( What should I do about that?

Are you referring to history? Can you share further details/screenshots to sup...@sessionbuddy.com.

Thanks,
Hans

Wait, I got all my collections back in! ^_^ I tried dragging the data file back into the Restore pop-up, & it worked! :D All of my collections have been restored!  Hooray! ^_^

As for the history, though, I have yet to check that.  It would be easier if S.B. sessions were grouped by day, then week, then month, then year.  That way, I wouldn't have to be scrolling forever to see how far back my history will go this time! ^^;; Could that possibly be arranged? :-)

Great! Glad to hear it worked.

Grouping history events sounds like an excellent idea. I'll add an item to the backlog to dig into this.

I also checked the Console again to see about SB not updating history since it was first brought to the Geek Squad.  I don't know if I'm missing some steps, or whatever else, but here's the errors I found on the console page:

Oh, that would be wonderful!!! ^_^ You'll let us know when you do it, of course, won't you? :-)

Thanks. That looks normal.

Can you share a screenshot of the History settings? (gear menu > Settings > History).

Thanks.

When was the last time you restarted your computer or the browser?

Um, the last time I restarted the computer, I think, was a few days ago.

Well, what do you know? :-) It's backing up history again! ^_^

Oh, one more thing:

How soon do you think you can incorporate grouping history events by day/week/month/year into Session Buddy? :-)

Nice!

There's a Chrome bug that causes the snapshot cycle to suspend in some cases. We're in the process of exploring automated workarounds for this. In the meantime, restarting the browser should unblock it.

I don't have an estimate for this at this time.
